My job is to awaken possibility in others.
I have always been a healer, but haven't always known how to do it well. I had to go through my own series of personal disasters in order to come out on the other side with the compassion, wisdom and maturity to then assist others in freeing themselves.
I am an artist, a teacher, a musician, a scientist and a healer. I am a trickster, dreamer, and wisdom-keeper. I am an earth protector—called an Ilpho in the tradition of my teacher. I work and live to heal relationships, both those we have with the outside world and each other as well as those we form with ourselves. I am a vegetarian and insomniac, a writer and a reader, a meditator and an over-thinker. I am a lover of beautiful things, a feng shui novice. If things go well I’ll finish this life as a loving assistant and architect of rooms and buildings and societies as well as of minds and hearts and bodies. I am a perceiver and creator of all things awesome, inspiring and curious.
I am a Shamanic Healer, in the true sense. Traditional Shamans were the ‘total’ healer in tribal communities, functioning as psychologists, medicine people, teachers, mentors, artists, priests and musicians. I, like other shamanic practitioners, am a channel. A bridge. I am and always have been able to connect with other ways of knowing, and when you have forgotten your connection to all that is it is this medicine that calls you back.
I know things, and I don’t know how I know them. My work is the act of surrender and stepping aside--as this medicine is how source energy comes through me--and then teaching that practice of surrender to others so that they may also experience the full expression of their potential. We are all here to participate in the healing of the world, if we believe that to be so. This is the medicine for those people who trust that concept and want to contribute to the building of a world founded in compassion, joy, mutuality and possibility as well as the full expression of their individuality.
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from the University of Victoria, a Masters in Integrative Healing from the California Institute of Integral Studies, and am an initiated Shamanic Practitioner after five years of study. I have studied with Bolivian, Tibetan, Lakota, and Haida teachers.
I am also a certified Crisis Interventionist, Yoga Teacher, Wellness Coach, Reiki practitioner, wife, and mother.
My gifts in practice are humor, clarity and joy. I work with the energy and spirit of the trickster, and while I tend to use the light side of this as often as possible, if you are need of a well-placed kick in the ass I will not think twice. What I want, more than anything, is for those who seek healing to find it, and it is my role and purpose to help facilitate such work.
